Bobby Elgee asked:

This article was written in response to a recent newspaper article (published in the Keene Sentinel, Keene, NH on Saturday, July 10, 2009) pertaining to The Atlantic Paranormal Society’s (TAPS) recent investigation of the Amos J. Blake House Museum in Fitzwilliam, NH, the museum of the Fitzwilliam Historical Society, and their intention to use the footage on their television show Ghost Hunters.

As a paranormal investigator, I have participated in three investigations at the Amos J. Blake House Museum. The group I am a member of was invited to investigate the location by the museum’s curator. I am aware of approximately six different paranormal groups that have investigated the site.

Though there are some indications of paranormal activity at the museum, all I have personally experienced is one cold spot, an unexplained voice, as well as capturing photographs of some strange mist. This is certainly not enough evidence to declare the place haunted by the standards of most paranormal investigators, however, we are all aware of the rarity of such phenomena and the difficulty of catching such phenomena on tape.

More recently, reports have been made of multiple apparitions, objects moving, and intelligent spirits haunting the location. These phenomena–as well as other strange events–have been reported by several groups, though most of these claims were made by Conscious Spirits Paranormal Group (CSPG), a team founded by the museums curator.

These events were documented on CSPG’s Web site as recently as Thursday July 8th. Upon review of the groups site on Monday July 13, all references to the Amos J. Blake House investigations had been removed, though there is documentation of the groups investigation of the location at the Web site of the Keene State Equinox, a local college newspaper.

There are several links– accessible via Google searches–to CSPG’s Web site that portray their involvement with this location.

It is unclear to me why this information was deleted. I certainly enjoyed following the reported activity and even though our group considered the purported “evidence” to be highly exaggerated–being more attentive to debunking then many groups–I found it very entertaining.

At this point in time, two of the few sites where I can find any significant documentation of paranormal activity at the museum is on Dark Nights Paranormal’s as well as ECTO Paranormal’s, two teams of competent and tech-savvy investigators based in the general area. There is at least one other Web site where documentation of an investigation of the museum is posted, however, the location is not being disclosed–though it was previously identified as such.

Apparently, there was a minor controversy involved with “Ghost Hunters,” filming at the location, as it was reported that the museum’s Board of Directors had no prior knowledge of the TAPS investigation of the museum. The newspaper article published several comments from a member of the board pertaining to this fact, and–as of the time this article was written–there is still appears to be some question as to who signed the release form that allowed the filming in the first place. The paper also reported that the curator of the museum–who participated in the filming–had no comment.

I find it interesting that the board had no prior knowledge of a film crew being invited to the location. It is also of interest to note that the curator of the museum is a former member of the group I am involved with. This individual left our group abruptly in February or March–and subsequently formed her own group–shortly after informing me that TAPS had contacted her and had expressed interest in setting up on the location. It was also at this time that the reports of purported paranormal activity at the location increased significantly.

It is clear to me that TAPS was interested in this location, and–at least according to the curator–that there was some contact going on during this time between them and the museum..

In an open query to the Board of Directors of the Fitzwilliam Historical Society, I would ask the them to consider the publicity that may be garnered from the location’s appearance on a national television show. In my experience, considering locations like the museum, publicity is a good thing.

Many similar sites have capitalized on such attention for monetary gain and recognition. The board will certainly want to consider how they are going to handle requests from individuals and groups wanting to complete paranormal investigations of the location–if you choose to allow them at all–as well as other recognition and media attention that arises from such an event.

Some places charge special fees for unique “haunted tours,” and others even arrange all-night ghost hunts. The U.S.S. Salem in Boston, MA, The Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, and Waverly Hills Sanitorium in Louisville, KY are examples of locations that are earning revenue and recognition secondary to their haunted status, and are places where one can participate in a paranormal investigation, above and beyond taking a simple tour.

In general, I would say that most ghost hunters are a respectful bunch, and the good ones appreciate the historical significance of such locations, as well as the potential for any paranormal activity.

The Amos J. Blake House Museum is a wonderful example of a New England historical society museum with an interesting and varied collection of artifacts, and–in my mind–this fact FAR outstrips the possibility of any paranormal activity occurring there.

I have participated many paranormal investigations–and have experienced some very strange things–however, on a scale of 1 to 10 related to possible paranormal activity, I would rate the museum a 2 or 3. Considering its wonderful collection and the history contained within its walls, I would rate it a 10.

Of course TAPS, with their top-of-the-line equipment and considerable resources may certainly be more successful then an amateur ghost hunter such as myself when it comes to finding evidence of possible paranormal activity.

It is obvious to me that the board of the Fitzwilliam Historical Society needs to seriously consider if this is a direction they would like to move in, and how the museum got to this point in the first place–a national television show filming in the location, apparently without it’s knowledge and consent.

At this time, it appears that consent has been given, albeit in a method in which the board was not aware, and that the investigation will air on national television. The board should consider how they can take advantage of this. My guess is that the situation be viewed as a positive one, an opportunity to increase attention for the museum, possibly resulting in revenue that could be used to help maintain this historic location. It may also have the added benefit of drawing some tourism to the town of Fitzwilliam, and the Monadnock area in general.

Of course, the board could certainly decide to let the spirits rest as well.

Bill Knell asked:

Already a knowledgeable New Age author, researcher and practitioner of sorts, Academy Award-winning Actress Shirley MacLaine seems to have added UFO conspiracy reporter to her resume. In her latest book, Saging While Aging, Shirley reveals what she knows or has learned about various incidents involving UFOs, the military, intelligence services and famous people. The well-known performer that has appeared in almost sixty films to date recently discussed her book and shared some of these revelations with Whitley Strieber on his Dreamland web cast.

One of the most-shocking claims made by the veteran actress is that the late John Mack, professor of Psychiatry at Harvard University and alien abductions researcher, may have been murdered. Dr Mack was killed by a drunk driver as he stepped off a curb in London, England, near Totteridge Lane and Longland Drive on September 27, 2004. He was walking home alone after a dinner with some friends when the incident occurred. Shirley says that another person named John Mack was also killed by a drunk driver around the same time in another part of London.

Another story Shirley shares is one that she heard from Lucille Ball involving the late Ronald Reagan. While he was still an actor, Ronald Reagan was attending a party with several other celebrities at a private residence in Los Angeles. The actor and his wife arrived several hours late. According to well-known actress and comedienne Lucille Ball, Reagan took her aside and told her that he and his wife Nancy had an amazing experience on the way to the party.

Ronald Regan told Lucy that he and Nancy were driving on Mulholland Drive when a UFO landed near their vehicle. Although this story has been told before, a number of new details were added. For example, Shirley MacLaine says Lucille Ball told her that Reagan claimed a ladder appeared and an alien climbed out of the craft. The alien told him to quit his acting work and go into politics. The most popular version of that same story doesn’t include the appearance of an alien or what he said to the former California Governor and President of the United States.

MacLaine had a few more surprises in store for Whitley Strieber and his audience. One was that she believed the popular account that President Eisenhower met with aliens at what is now Edwards Air Force Base in 1954. Another was her admiration for the late Dr Michael Wolf and the information he shared with paranormal researchers. Dr Wolf is well known to some in the UFO field as a U.S. Government Insider that spent roughly the last ten years of his life sharing some of what he knew or had learned about UFOs and aliens. Those revelations included as much as he was allowed to reveal about U.S. Government involvement with aliens.

Fellow paranormal researcher **** Criswell and I spent years speaking with Dr Wolf., **** much more so than I. Michael Wolf spoke about things involving UFOs and aliens in the 1990s that were completely unknown to UFO researchers at that time. That caused him more than a few problems with many in the UFO research community where already jealous and distrustful people took aim at his claims. Despite almost complete rejection by major UFO research organizations, Dr Wolf’s information was credible and time has proven him to be correct. Several video and audio presentations by or about Dr Wolf are offered at <a href="http://www.CanYouStandTheTruth.com

Shirley” title=”http://www.CanYouStandTheTruth.com

Shirley” target=”_blank”>www.CanYouStandTheTruth.com

Shirley MacLaine first stirred up a hornet’s nest with her new book by revealing that Democratic presidential contender Dennis Kucinich (House of Representatives, D-Ohio) had seen a UFO while at one of her homes located near Seattle, Washington. That brought a number of embarrassing questions for Kucinich and revealed how the mainstream media simply refuses to take the subject seriously.

MacLaine’s new book is more than just the usual New Age fluff and I’m not sure that her loyal readers are ready for what she has to say. However, I thank her for her honesty and suggest you read Saging While Aging. In a culture devoted to youth, it’s important to remember how much we can learn from those who have experienced life and few have done so more fully than Shirley MacLaine.

Read more at <a href="http://www.CanYouStandTheTruth.com

Andrew asked:

Genius is nothing but the perception of a quality which is desired in another person. Every human being has basic needs and desires, for example, people need food, shelter, they want to get knowledge, to feel love and also what is very important they have an insuperable striving for a positive self-image. A genius is a person who rises above the system and operates it to his or her advantage, and in such a way satisfies one of our basic desires. These people, genius, are not some kind of mystical or paranormal beings in any way, they simply manage to reach what every one of us desires. If we follow this definition then we come to a conclusion that everyone is a genius. Every person has something that is desired by some other person. So we can say that generally people are what we could call genius, this definition can be used by anyone for anyone.

The term genius is surrounded by vagueness and indeterminability, and it is not easy to understand why the myth still spreads around. We still have no tests measuring genius level; we still do not know the major features of the potential genius, the tasks they must fulfill and problems they must solve, there are no possibilities to conduct any kind of measurement. Taking into account that the world is moved by scientific fact and experiments, it is an interesting riddle which has no solution yet. Nevertheless, we know that genius exists subjectively, and not objectively. It is in the people’s minds. So it is better to use this term for designation of people whom we admire as well as envy. Let’s simply enjoy it for we can not explain its existence any way.

Dror Klar asked:

The question of where dead people go when they die is one that many people think they already know. According to some they do not go anywhere. At least some of them do not. It seems that many of the dead choose to remain right where they were. Here with us. Now that is a real scary thought that has been truly believed by some throughout history.

The idea that there are living people among us that can actually communicate with the dead is considered a fact by some and ridiculed at the same time by others. It all comes down to whether you believe that there is some sort of life after death or not. There are many things about life and death that are as yet unable to be proven one way or the other and whether there is life, ghostly or otherwise, is still considered a mystery to most.

Despite the fact that this age old question can not be factually answered for sure, the number of people who watch the many popular paranormal television shows are millions. Evidently whether we believe or not, we still enjoy entertaining the possibility of life after death.. Paranormal shows about ghosts and those who communicate with them are some of the top ranking at the moment.

Recently the top two network programs, Ghost Whisperer and Medium have a tremendous viewing audience. These shows are strictly fictional and everyone who watches them knows this. They are loved simply for their entertainment value and the people who play the main characters on the shows, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Patricia Arquette.

There are other shows that are supposedly based on real encounters that people claim to have had with the dead. Psychics and mediums that are believed to have the ability to communicate or locate these spirits are commonly used in these shows.

Some of the most watched shows are on cable and satellite channels. If you watch the Biography channel, you can watch The Unexplained. This show deals with paranormal stories and other topics of interest such as alien life forms and unidentified flying objects.

On the Science Fiction channel you can see Ghost Hunters. These seekers of the dead visit places that people are reportedly having encounters with ghost. These places they visit can be historical ones or more ordinary residences where paranormal activity is believed to be taking place..

On the Travel channel, the places where their spiritual activities take place are usually in a historical setting of some sort. Most Haunted is also one of the most watched paranormal shows on television right now. There are other ones that have not been mentioned here that you might want to check out as well if you like these type of programs.

Ronald Eapen asked:

In the 1920’s, there was a big sensation in the US. Twosisters had photographed fairies flying around flowers in their garden. It was an unbelievable event. The two gave interviews and talked stuff. It was after more than sixty years that one sister revealed the whole thing was a hoax. The fairies were made of paper. Nonetheless they captured public imagination. It was something different and unbelievable, but was revealed a hoax later.

But thousands of paranormal and supernatural things remain the way they are- uncanny and unimaginable. No one has explanations. All the same, people love to know more and indulge in these pursuits. Very often we have astrologers predicting events. Most people love the opportunity to get one’s palm read by an astrologer.

Believe the stuff or scoff at it. But the whole idea is fascinating to humans. Many people read the headlines of a newspaper later, but read their horoscope first. Astrologers and fortune tellers may talk in deceptive and ambiguous terms. Knowing the same, people flock to them.

Science and scientists try a lot. They never come up with satisfying explanations to paranormal and psychic stuff. Human beings are a curious lot. Issues with explanations satisfy them. But things with no explanations fascinate them. Take this one. Former US presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy – Kennedy’s life was very nearly a copy of Lincoln’s. Both became presidents after similar victories. Held office for nearly same number of days. Both were assassinated outside a theater near their car. The name of the killer was the same in both cases. These two incidents happened more than eighty years apart. Science does not have any explanation to this. People are intrigued by such happenings.

Human minds are adventurous. No wonder, why horror movies are so popular.

Everyone knows it’s all make believe. People still get white with fear inside cinemas and dream of ghosts for next few days. Calling spirits of dead people has become an industry in Britain. You have Gypsy ladies peering in a psychic glass ball and calling spirits of the dead people you want to get in contact with. Forget the common man, British aristocracy has been known to visit them more than anyone else.

Science-fiction -a word that sums up the topic. All the science-fiction novels, movies is make-believe. Nothing is real but every thing’s in a proper scientific way.

Giant spaceships, alien landings, UFOs kidnapping people all happen in science fiction. Actually there’s a group of people in US who claim to have been kidnapped by UFOs. They believe, they have had extra-terrestrial contact. What’s true, what’s not only time will tell.

Now if there were a time machine to travel in the future like in the movies…

Vikram kuamr asked:

It is quite often that many people find themselves losing touch with friends as their lives go in different directions. Whether you have moved to a new city or have simply drifted apart from childhood friends, many people have found themselves in need of new friendships. However, it is not that easy to make new friends.

When it comes to making friends, one cannot just walk down the street and introduce yourself to someone you deem to have lots in common to you. It’s not that easy. You can make friends at work or at school but it is ideal to meet people that have interests similar to yours. In turn, you will have a better relationship as you can do the things you mutually like together.

It is ideal to meet people that are a reflection of your own personality. For example, if you are someone who likes to stay in and watch movies, it is not ideal to look for a friend who frequents the nightlife and goes out every other day of the week. If you are a girly girl and likes to go to spas and get manis and pedis, it is better for you to search for someone who likes to do the same.

With the help of technology, it is now a lot easier to make new friends then it was 10 years ago. With all the new social networking sites that are currently available on the internet, making friends has become a lot less difficult.

However, you may want to find a site where all other members are also looking for friendship. It is not ideal to go to a dating site or a regular social network and begin requesting friendship from its members. You want to find a site that is catered specifically for people looking to make new friends.

It is now easy for women in particular to find friendship with other women online. At a website called Chummychums, women can now create profiles detailing all aspects of their personality, upload photos and begin their journey of making friends. They can browse profiles of women in their local area and filter friends out according to their interests. Women have the capability of showing their musical preferences, showing how frequently they enjoy the nightlife, whether or not they have children, and much more.

Here you will find other members looking for new buddies, just as you are. This is very important. Chummychums is also a platform for women to be able to interact and express themselves. Women can participate in forums and discuss issues that are important to them. They can also blog about themselves or any other topic they feel strongly about.

Chummychums provides all the means necessary to make new friends. Girl friends can contact each other via email messages, via chat rooms and even instant messenger. We all recognize that we need friends to share special moments in our lives with. On Chummychums, you will not have a difficult time making friends.

Joel Owens asked:

The world of the paranormal is back – back in television that is. The signs were clear when the show Lost, and Medium by ABC and NBC respectively have been gaining ratings. Warner Brothers has joined the fray with the new series Supernatural. Episodes of this show play like its own mini horror movie. The truth is, Warner Brothers have always been doing this kind of show. They were the ones who made Buffy the Vampire Slayer such a big hit. They followed it with the spin-off Angel. Then there was the hit series that made Witches so much sexier Charmed and then finally, the very successful Smallville based on the teen life of the worlds most popular superhero. Supernatural features pretty boys and pretty girls all involved in the world of unholy phenomena. Despite that, his show can actually scare you.

The main characters Sam and Dean Winchester are played by actors with unpronounceable last names Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The two are actually ok actors. They do their job on screen well enough for us to believe what they are doing or to believe that there is actually some demon in the scene. The only distraction is that they are just look too much like pretty boy models. Jared Padalecki has been trying to get other kinds of acting opportunities. He recently had a role as a victim in the House of Wax horror movie and as another victim in the movie Cry Wolf. Okay, so those roles aren’t exactly new. He might not be able to get out of the genre of the supernatural. Episodes that showcase his acting skills are many though, and might be good enough for his career. On the other hand, Jensen Ackles seems like a more veteran actor. He is more convincing for me.

Eric Kripke, another unpronounceable surname, is the Supernatural Episodes creator and executive producer. This is a hell of a lot better than the last project he was involved in, the massive failure called “Tarzan.” Supernatural episodes have a better horror quality. It actually made my heart skip maybe once or twice throughout the season. But maybe that is only because I am not really that used to seeing blood and gore in my television set. My dose of horror blood is always taken through the movie houses. So in the final analysis, Fox has tried to combine some elements from The X-files, and also some story elements from the show Route 66. The show, especially in the last few plot twisting episodes of season 4 is worthy of being watched. It’s a welcome addition to the horror genre in television which seems to have been thinning out as of late.

Bill Knell asked:

My experience with the story of Eastern Flight 401 began early in 1973. I flew from Tampa, Florida, to New York City and back several times that year. Most of my close relatives lived in the New York City area. During school breaks, I took the opportunity to combine visits with them with opportunities to attend various paranormal seminars scheduled for that year.

At sixteen, I was an experienced traveler and made most of my own airline reservations and arrangements. I hated crowds and loved red eye flights. Traveling at odd hours was no big deal for me. During the middle of Summer Break 1973, I was aboard a Sunday afternoon EAL flight that seemed almost empty. In those days there were always more flight attendants than needed on the off peak hours flights. The younger, less experienced crew members tended to hob knob with passengers. That’s how I met Susan. (I am being polite: Flight Attendants were called Stewardesses if they were women and Stewards if they were men in those days)

Her attention was drawn to a book I was reading about Flying Saucers. Like most of the flight attendants that I met during the 1970s, Susan was from the South. She seemed about twenty years old and had a pleasant personality. We talked on and off as her free time allowed. I had enough time in the air to know that there were several topics that you never brought up on a plane. These included UFOs and Airline Crashes, but both subjects came up anyway.

Susan was obviously well read on the UFO subject. Like me, she had relatives in the Air Force. She also knew people that had personally seen UFOs while on commercial flights. Most were not spectacular sightings, but strange enough to cause concern. What really got her started were some of the ghost stories I told. It turned out that hers was much better than mine.

I didn’t know much about the Flight 401 Air Disaster except that it involved an Eastern Airlines Passenger Jet which went down in the Florida Everglades about six months before. Personally, I was more concerned about airline hijackers in those days than crashes. Susan asked if I had heard any of the stories about ghosts from that flight appearing to people. I hadn’t. Before she could utter another word, a male flight attendant walking by grabbed her by the arm. Both vanished into the First Class section.

After a few minutes the male flight attendant reappeared. Although he worked in First Class, he came up to my seat and asked how I was doing? I said I was fine and didn’t need anything. He introduced himself as Bobby and asked if I wanted to move up to First Class. I accepted the invitation. While walking through the curtain that separated the sections, Susan whizzed by me with just a quick smile and stuffed some folded mimeographed papers into my hand. I shoved them into my pocket.

The five folded pages that Susan stuffed into my hand looked like some kind of insider’s newsletter. Something a Flight Attendant had put together for other Flight Attendants. It made reference to the 401 crash and how that some flight crews were seeing ghosts from the 401 crash. The pages were badly worn and had obviously been passed around and handled a lot. Although names and specifics were left out, it was obvious that this was a how-to sheet for crew members that wanted to avoid being on planes known for the 401 ghost appearances.

After we landed, I told Bobby that I left something in my seat back in coach. Before he could say anything, I headed back to speak to Susan. She was putting away pillows, so I thanked her for being so nice, pulled the mimeographed sheets out of my pocket and asked her, “Did you see any of the ghosts?” She looked down and thanked me for flying Eastern. Cold! I felt as if I had been dumped by a prom date! I mean, it wasn’t like I expected her to give me her telephone number. I just wanted to talk Airline spooks.

While in New York, I went to a library and looked up more information about the crash. It seems that the whole thing began when Flight 401 left Tampa for New York on December 29, 1972. The flight crew was Pilot Bob Loft, First Officer Albert Stockstill and Flight Engineer Don Repo. On the return leg to Miami, a problem developed. While on approach to Miami International at 11:30pm, a landing gear light failed to come on. As a result, the crew attempted to be sure the gear was down.

While trying to remedy the landing gear light issue, it’s likely that someone bumped the aircraft control column and deactivated the auto pilot. This caused a slow decent that wasn’t noticed by the flight crew until it was too late. Loft and Stockstill perished in the cockpit, although Loft hung on for a while after the crash. Stockstill was thirty-nine and Loft was fifty-five years old. Don Repo, fifty-one years old, initially survived the crash and died a day later in the hospital. In the end, ninety-six of one hundred and sixty-three passengers died.

Two weeks later I flew back to Tampa, Florida. I wondered if it had been sheer luck that caused me to learn about the 401 ghost stories on a flight from Tampa and to New York. Maybe, but I wasn’t lucky enough to end up on a flight with Susan again. My off peak flight took off on a late Sunday afternoon with a completely different crew. There were maybe thirty people on board and we ended up with an experienced Flight Attendant. She was kind of bossy, so I sat and read quietly.

At some point, I took out the folded pages that Susan gave me. I tucked them into a notebook I purchased at the airport and had been trying to decode the worn mimeo sheets for days. It proved difficult and was very frustrating, but I thought I would use the flight time back to Florida to try again. While I was using a magnifying glass to try and make out the words and letters, a member of the flight crew passed by. It was the First Officer headed to the back of the aircraft.

I probably wouldn’t have noticed him, but he stopped at my seat and looked at the sheets. He asked, “Pardon me, did someone on this flight or at the airport give that to you?” I told him no and made the mistake of saying that I found it in one of the magazines on board. I didn’t want to get Susan in trouble. He reached over and grabbed it out of my hands saying it was a scandal sheet passed around by ill-informed employees.

I had no way of knowing that I was flying Eastern at a time when the Flight 401 ghost sightings were at their high point. The sightings began in January of 1973 and continued in earnest until the summer of 1974. These events were exposed to the world in The Ghost of Flight 401, a book written by John G. Fuller. Fuller is one of my favorite authors. His book, Interrupted Journey chronicled the famous Betty and Barney Hill UFO Abduction Case and there were others like Incident at Exeter that I enjoyed as well.

Fuller’s book came out a couple of years after the ghost sightings ended. His wife, Elizabeth, was an Eastern Flight Attendant that helped him get the goods on the 401 ghost sightings. Her book, My Search for the Ghost of Flight 401, was just as good as his and I read both with equal enthusiasm. Anyone interested the paranormal should dig up copies of these and read them cover to cover.

The film, The Ghost of Flight 401, starred Ernest Borgnine and was a part of a one-two punch delivered by Hollywood. The second was the release of Crash, another film about the 401 disaster. This one starred William Shatner. Both films were shown on Broadcast Television in the USA and released in theaters in some other Countries. All told, the films were well received and probably gave Frank Borman more sleepless nights than the ghosts themselves.

In The Ghost of Flight 401, the ghosts appear as any human would. For example, during a 1973 flight from Newark to Miami, A Flight Attendant was doing a head count when she noticed a man in an Eastern Airlines Pilot uniform seated with the passengers. He refused to acknowledge her, so she contacted the flight crew. The Captain of that flight came back to see what was going on and recognized the man as Bob Loft. He cried out, “Oh my God, that’s Bob Loft!” At that point Loft vanished. Everyone present saw it happen.

During a 1974 flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Newark, NJ, the Pilot sees Don Repo sitting in the Flight Engineer’s seat. Repo says, “There will never be another crash of an L-1011, we will not allow it.” Repo vanishes after speaking. During another sighting, Repo appeared to a Flight Crew member and said he had completed the preflight check.

On another occasion, a Flight Attendant saw a man in a Flight Engineer uniform fixing a microwave oven. Thinking nothing of it, she went about her business. Later she asked the Flight Engineer what was wrong with the microwave. He had no idea what she was talking about. Repo also appeared several times in the Hell Hole (electronics room) beneath the cockpit after crew members heard knocking in that area and went to investigate.

While boarding a flight that would take him from JFK in New York to Miami International in 1973, a Vice President of Eastern Airlines entered the First Class Cabin and saw an Eastern Pilot sitting there. When he got close enough to see his face, it was Bob Loft. Loft vanished before his eyes. Loft was seen by a number of flight crews and spoke occasionally warning about problems or potential problems on board an aircraft.

There were some other types of appearances as well. Flight Attendant Faye Merryweather saw the face of Don Repo staring at her from an oven in the galley of Tri-Star 318. The galley was salvaged from the wreckage of 401. Merryweather summoned two other Flight Attendants. One was a friend of Repo and recognized his face. Repo spoke and said, “Watch out for fire on this airplane.” The airliner ended up having engine trouble a short time later on route to Acapulco. After landing, the rest of its flight was cancelled.

And it wasn’t just flight crews that saw the deceased crew members.

Several Marriott Food Service workers saw a Flight Engineer vanish in the galley of an airliner being stocked for the next flight and refused to continue their work. That flight was delayed for over an hour. Airline cleaners and mechanics began to find reasons to avoid working on or in Ship #318 where most of the sightings took place. Some believe that’s because parts were salvaged from the aircraft involved in the 401 crash and transplanted into #318. It’s as good as explanation as any.

Although the details remain sketchy and there’s a great deal of disagreement about it, the end of the ghost sightings may have had something to do with a psychic intervention of sorts. It’s been reported that one or more people who knew Loft and Repo managed to contact them through the help of a psychic medium who persuaded them to move on. The ghost sightings ended about a year and a half after the crash.

A haunting of this intensity and frequency reveals how woefully inadequate our attempts to understand or investigate the paranormal have been. This is especially true of those who do not care to acknowledge paranormal events in the first place. Rather than believe their own people, Eastern chose to ignore the ghost reports and recommend mental health evaluations and treatment for those who saw them. If the ghosts that appeared after the 401 crash have taught us anything, I would hope it is that simply ignoring paranormal events will not make them vanish into thin air.

Read more true stories about the Unexplained, order paranormal DVDs and experience the unexplained at <a href="http://www.UFOguy.com

Joel Owens asked:

Partying, dressing up as demented creatures of the night, trick-or-treating—We all have our own take on how to spend the season of fright. Since Halloween falls on a Friday this year, another option is to fulfill that dream holiday that has long been overdue.

Holiday trips are dandy and exciting, but when unseen scary creatures of the night hitchhike with you, the word holiday goes down the drain. Furniture flying, creepy sounds reverberating, horrific images of paranormal all around—If the whole universe decided that Halloween is your unlucky star, these are least of the things you would encounter on your trip. On the other hand, if the universe really hates your guts, your hotel experience while on a trip might just be your worse nightmare.

So before deciding on where to spend your long exotic Halloween weekend and mark up the holiday fright, read a roundup of the scariest hotels in Asia that would really make you wish you hadn’t gone out of the house this Halloween

Buma Inn (China)

The Chinese really take this paranormal stuff seriously. Anyone would when the paranormal event includes scary creatures of the night going berserk. Buma Inn in Beijing is haunted by a rampaging ghost out to take revenge. Apparently, a guest in the inn years ago was poisoned by the hotel chef. Guilt-stricken, the hotel chef consequently killed himself after the crime. The horror didn’t end there. Until now, the restless ghost of the murdered guest haunts the hotel looking for the chef who poisoned her.

The Savoy Hotel (India)

Positioned in one of India’s capital, Mussoorie, The Savoy Hotel became the inspiration of Agatha Christie’s novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles. The hotel doesn’t only offer luxury, but an unwavering supply of fright, as well. Its former owner, Lady Orme, who allegedly died of poisoning, is said to be haunting the opulent hotel. This scary creature of the night was reportedly seen aimlessly wandering the halls of her former hotel.

Tambun Inn (Malaysia)

The Tambun Inn is one of the favorite hotels in Ipoh, Malaysia. Apparently, wandering tourists are not the only ones crazy about the hotel. Scary creatures of the night are said to be haunting the hotel, as well. Many accounts of ghostly events have been documented. Some of these accounts mentioned about lights turning on and off, sounds of whispers and eerie cries heard in the inn. There was also a report about a ghost of an old woman spotted within the vicinity of the inn.

Toftaholm Herrgard (Sweden)

Everybody loves a romantic story, but putting scary creatures of the night in the mix might change some people’s mind about liking them. In Sweden, a hotel named Toftaholm Hergard, a love story ala Romeo and Juliet took place between a commoner and a baron’s daughter. However, the baron had his daughter married off to someone else leaving behind her hapless lover. On the day of the wedding, the lover hanged himself from the rafters. His spirit is said to haunt Room 324 where the rafters once were.

The Nottingham Road Hotel (South Africa)

A hotel in KwaZulu-Natal is such a relaxing place that would make any guest want to stay. On the other hand, the guests aren’t the only ones convinced that it’s comforting to chill out in this hotel. A ghost of a former barmaid is still roaming the hotel moving pots around the pub, opening beer tags, and ringing the service bell. The ghost was also said to have deflated the tires of certain guests who, it turned out, are poor tippers.
