There are several new television programs which are very entertaining. Some of the new seasons of these programs are getting better than last year and other programs are entirely new. These shows are very different from one another and are all very good and entertaining or educational and entertaining.

The first new show is Top Gear. Top Gear is a show on BBC America, that has been on the air in Brittan for several seasons, and is now showing in America on the BBC America Channel. This is not just a program about cars and other vehicles, it is the most entertaining program about vehicles of every sort ever on television. In addition to giving much comparison on different vehicles as the new season of vehicles comes onto the market, it puts the vehicles to the test by racing the vehicle by the same driver, and keeping a list of how each vehicle ranks as far as speed. In addition, each guest star invited to the show races the same vehicle and gets to see where he or she ranks against the past guests to the show, all recorded on a magnetic board and the guests time is put up to show where he or she ranks in racing the same vehicle. In addition to the guest, the 3 hosts of the show take different challenges given by the producers of the show, such as racing 18 wheel trucks, which the 3 co-hosts had to buy with under 1500 British Pounds. The hosts then had to paint and decorate the trucks, and then had to do a number of challenges, which were unknown to the hosts until each challenge began. Each episode is very entertaining and comical. Comparison of automobiles is a very boring subject, but this program is anything but boring. This program shows its new episode each Monday evening at 9 pm EST, on the BBC America Channel. Each new episode airs several times each week.
The new season of Paranormal State is better than the last season. Paranormal State is a show about Penn State Paranormal Research’s team helping those who are being ‘haunted’ in their homes. Many times, PRS is the family’s last hope to clear their home of the infestation or find out why the spirit is in the home. The PRS team not only tries to prove the existence of the paranormal, but they get services for the families they help. Counseling services or any other services that will help the family to heal from the damage done by the paranormal situation. The PRS group does not go into a situation with trying to prove the existence of the paranormal, more to disprove it, or find an alternate explanation before calling the activity in question paranormal. There are times that the answer has not been paranormal at all. If the family needs counseling for what ever reason, those services are offered to the family at no charge to the family. The PRS team deals with many different types of ‘hauntings’ and even at times deal with demonic beings. The new episode airs on A & E, on Monday nights at 10 pm EST.

BBC America has started a new show called Mistresses. The show airs on Fridays at 9 pm EST. Mistresses is a program about 4 friends who each have their own problems and relationship issues and try to help each other through their problems. The women are each very different and have different sets of moral values. The show is very interesting, since no two of the women are in the same situation. This is definitely an adult program but for those with an open mind it is interesting. This program also gives a realistic view into how some women think. It does have an adult subject matter and is not for children. The women are all in different career fields, one is a doctor, one is a lawyer, one is a stay at home mom, who lost her husband in the Terrorist Attacks on 9/11. The last woman is a wedding planner. The show takes a very interesting stand on interpersonal relationships and how things can go wrong.

The Fascination With Astrology – How Good

CD Mohatta asked:

In the 1920′s, there was a big sensation in the US. Two sisters had photographed fairies flying around flowers in their garden. It was an unbelievable event. The two gave interviews and talked stuff. It was after more than sixty years that one sister revealed the whole thing was a hoax. The fairies were made of paper. Nonetheless they captured public imagination. It was something different and unbelievable, but was revealed a hoax later. But thousands of paranormal and supernatural things remain the way they are- uncanny and unimaginable. No one has explanations. All the same, people love to know more and indulge in these pursuits.

Very often we have astrologers predicting events. Most people love the opportunity to get one’s palm read by an astrologer. Believe the stuff or scoff at it. But the whole idea is fascinating to humans. Many people read the headlines of a newspaper later, but read their horoscope first. Astrologers and fortune tellers may talk in deceptive and ambiguous terms. Knowing the same, people flock to them.

Science and scientists try a lot. They never come up with satisfying explanations to paranormal and psychic stuff. Human beings are a curious lot. Issues with explanations satisfy them. But things with no explanations fascinate them. Take this one. Former US presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy – Kennedy’s life was very nearly a copy of Lincoln’s. Both became presidents after similar victories. Held office for nearly same number of days. Both were assassinated outside a theater near their car. The name of the killer was the same in both cases. These two incidents happened more than eighty years apart. Science does not have any explanation to this. People are intrigued by such happenings.

Human minds are adventurous. Always in search of thrills. No wonder, why horror movies are so popular. Everyone knows it’s all make believe. People still get white with fear inside cinemas and dream of ghosts for next few days. Calling spirits of dead people has become an industry in Britain. You have Gypsy ladies peering in a psychic glass ball and calling spirits of the dead people you want to get in contact with. Forget the common man, British aristocracy has been known to visit them more than anyone else.

Science-fiction -a word that sums up the topic. All the science-fiction novels, movies is make-believe. Nothing is real but every thing’s in a proper scientific way. Giant spaceships, alien landings, UFOs kidnapping people all happen in science fiction. Actually there’s a group of people in US who claim to have been kidnapped by UFOs. They believe, they have had extra-terrestrial contact. What’s true, what’s not only time will tell. Now if there were a time machine to travel in the future like in the movies?

Vikram kuamr asked:

As human beings we need to interact with others to live a fulfilling life.  It is very important to have good people surrounding us as we live our lives. The worth of friendship cannot be overlooked.

Perhaps you are one of the lucky people in this world that has many friends with interests similar to yours that have remained in your life for a very longtime.  However, for some of us, that is not the case.  We have lost touch with our childhood friends due to relocation for a new job, an unfortunate disagreement, or simply because our lives went in different directions (ex:  children, marriage)  As we all know, there is not a formula or how-to guide to make friends.

The process of making new friends has never been easy, especially if you are a busy career women or a stay at home mom.  In today’s day and age, however, the internet is providing us with the means to do certain things that we would not have been able to do 10 years ago.  With the use of the internet, it is now a whole lot easier to make friends.  We now all have the ability to search for new friends, online.

Whether you are still in school, a stay at home mom or a busy career woman, you can now use your own personal time to find the right friend online in the comfort of your own home.  You can easily meet new people and make some new friends with the help of various websites available on the internet.

One website geared towards women looking to make other women friends is Chummychums.  There are a number of reasons why this site is distinct from other social networking sites when looking to make friends.

a)  Women can meet women in their local area whom are also looking for new female friends.  Every member on the site knows that any member they reach out to is looking for the same thing – Friendship.

b)  Women can search for other girlfriends according to any similar interests they might have in common.  For example:  You can choose to contact a friend according to her musical preference, or how frequently she likes to experience the nightlife.  You can also search and see if your potential new friends are single or married and whether or not they have children.

c)  Gal pals can contact each other using messages or instant messages.

d)  Users can participate in forums and discuss the latest topics that are important to women.  Members can also participate in chat rooms and even share their latest blogs with other potential pals.

Those are some key features of the website which make it clear that Chummychums is a great place to make friends.

X-Files 2 Expecting Great Reviews

Kyle Newton asked:

In September of 1993 a television show premiered on Fox that became a cultural phenomenon all around the world. The show focused on FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Skully as they investigated paranormal activity, often centered around extraterrestrial origins. The show was called The X-Files.

The show became popular among UFO enthusiasts, science fiction fans, and mystery fans due to its interesting mixture of science fiction, mystery, and conspiracy theories as topics of investigation for the protagonists.

The show was created by Chris Carter. The show is considered a hallmark series of the 1990s due to its appeal to those who mistrusted the government, had an interest in spirituality, and extraterrestrial possibilities.

The series pilot featured Dana Skully (played by Gillian Anderson) who is brought on by the FBI to work in the X-Files department, which is looked down on by her peers on the basis that it is centered around the paranormal and that it is run by Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) who has earned himself the nickname Spooky due to his belief in the paranormal, particularly in the belief that his sister was abducted by aliens. Skully’s job is more than that of working with Mulder, however. She has been brought on to work with him in order to debunk his findings due to her skeptical nature.

However, as the series progressed, she constantly found her skepticism and logic challenged by the unexplainable. As the series progressed, romantic tension built between Mulder and Skully and this led to the speculation of many fans that a romantic relationship between the two would take place. However, this did not happen until the very end of the series.

The series proved so popular, that a motion picture was released in 1998 entitled The X-Files: Fight the Future and was a major financial and critical success. After the end of the series in 2003, fans pondered whether or not a sequel would ever be filmed, with optimism at first, but as the years rolled by, that optimism waned.

Even the actors seemed to not have faith in the production of a new film. However, in late 2007 it was announced that a script for an untitled sequel had been written with both Duchovny and Anderson to reprise their roles to show what happened to the protagonists after the cliffhanger ending of the series. Filming began in December and it is expected to be released in July of 2008.

Ghost Hunting – Televised Events

Hazel Ford asked:

What I think we need to understand is that televised ghost hunts are edited to the point where they give the impression that there is continuous activity.  This is very understandable when you consider that they only have an hour to demonstrate 2 days worth of ghost hunting time.  This is obviously edited and therefore the paranormal activity seems relentless.  As a ghost hunter myself I can sometimes feel very envious of how televised events present themselves to the eager observers.  I wish that on an untelevised event we could get that much activity.  However, this is not the case.  On many ghost hunt events it could be a long arduous night with very much happening at all and when it does there is no repetition or replay of the moment.  We have to be alert and eagle eyed throughout the event.  The best thing about having a lot of people there is that there are more people to hear and see activity.  The downside is obviously that there are also a lot of people who can make noise which can be misinterpreted.

All ghost hunts are fascinating.  Every location is unique as is every ghost hunt event.  The people attending the event all bring something different in terms of energy and belief about what they are doing.  I wonder how interesting it would be for a public ghost hunt to be televised and how controls could be enforced in order to make it entertaining.  It would of course be quite an active event as the timeframe would be filled with the movement of the public and re-settling into various locations.  However, I could see how this could work.  It would be a bit like the public who watch the televised versions of a ghost hunt physically going into the Television to be part of the televised event.  No longer being an observer but a participator.

Have you ever considered going on a ghost hunt event?  If so then please visit our website at http://www.hauntedhappenings.co.uk and we will ensure that you will have an experience that you will never forget,

Twilight And The Urban Fantasy Phenomenon

Andrew Hawnt asked:

success of the Twilight books, written by Stephanie Meyer, and the subsequent feature film adaptation starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, has brought the Urban fantasy genre to the forefront of genre publishing. SF and fantasy purists may disapprove, but we must all appreciate the fact that Twilight, and things like Buffy before it, have been good for genre publishing as a whole. Why? Because series such as Twilight, Harry Potter and similar franchises are bringing more readers to the genres that spawned them. While these books may not be the best written or best plotted things on the market, they are opening up the minds of young readers to the realms of fantastic fiction in all its forms. Look at it this way: The Twilight books are finite, and once young readers have finished reading the series, they will look for similar titles to read until the next Twilight book comes along. These could be the dark fairy-tales of Neil Gaiman, the vampire hunter books of Laurel K Hamiltion, the varied urban fantasy of Kelley Armstrong, or the excellent vampire novels of S. Roit (aka Sherry Roit), such as the impeccable Paris Immortal. Many bookshops now contain a dedicated Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romance section, and while SF and fantasy purists such as myself may have our issues with their contents, these books are bringing a new audience into an industry that desperately needs new readers. Some argue that this is not the case, with Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy readers sticking to similar titles once their favourite series comes to an end, but many of these people will move on to other titles as they mature and their tastes change. The paranormal and fantasy genres have always gained from the addition of popular movie tie-ins and movies themselves, and rather than being empty, vapid pieces of trash fiction, they are the doorway to a universe of wonder for new readers to discover. The same goes for movie and TV tie-in merchandise and tie-in novels from franchises such as Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Buffy and so on- they help strengthen the publishing industry by offering brand familiarity to people who may not usually read. Twilight has brought a number of young teenaged readers new icons in Edward and Bella, but there are so many other characters and stories for them to discover. See Twilight as a stepping stone to greater things, and welcome the new fans that stick around into the genres of fantasy, science fiction and horror with open arms.
