April Fools Day – The Psychic Connection
Allison Mac asked:
For most of us around the world we know April Fools day to be a day of pranks and trickery. It can be great fun to trick someone into believing something that isn’t true. James Randi however takes this one step further and what many may not know is that April Fools day is also the day that the Pigasus Award is announced.
The Pigasus Award has gone as far back as 1979 and is given annually by James Randi who is a noted skeptic of psychic energy. The award seeks to expose paranormal, parapsychological or psychic frauds that have been noted over the previous year. Appropriately given on the first of April, Randi awards the trophy to candidates chosen by himself from a list of nominees.
The trophy has been noted as being a stainless steel spoon bent in a curve and supported by a plastic base. It is flimsy at best and done so on purpose. There is also a plaque with a flying pig on it. Randi has stated sarcastically that the winners are published immediately after being announced on April Fools and are notified telepathically. He has also said that the famous Flying Pig trophies are sent via psychokinesis and if not received then it is probably due to their lack of paranormal talent.
Though the Pigasus awards are not done every year, there is a long list of recipients spanning from 1979 including famed psychics Nostradamus, John Edward, Sylvia Browne and Allison DuBois. The White House has also been a winner. For a complete list of other famous recipients visit Wikipedia and search Pigasus Award.
April Fools day may be a day of pranks and laughter for some. For James Randi however it is an opportunity to ridicule some poor unsuspecting person or institution that he feels has promoted fraudulent paranormal claims. To all of us who are believers in psychic energy – beware of the Pigasus award! As an April Fools day joke from Randi, it may telepathically wind up on your doorstep.
Find out who the winners of the 2009 Pigasus Awards are and decide for yourself whether their psychic claims are real or a hoax. A complete list of recipients can be found at YourPsychicResource.

Disproving Psychic Abilities
Frederick Gimino asked:
Psychics provide an opportunity to explore a mysterious world that lies just beyond our five senses. Opening a door to the supernatural realm of spirits and other worldly phenomenon psychics hold the key to the future that is yet to be.
Some skeptics say psychics do not exist but many experts disagree. Considering the expansive collection of unexplained phenomenon, in the world, it is hard to dispute the possibility of psychic powers.
We do know that we only use about 10% of our brains resources. So, what is the other 90 % for? It would stand to reason that it has some function. Right? So, is it not possible that somewhere, in that untapped potential, resides a sixth sense?
A sense that allowed us to survive a much darker time when man was forced to compete with oversized predators and elusive prey. Only armed with the power of the human mind, steely wits, and an opposable thumb mankind was already a formidable adversary. However, the addition of keener senses or an additional sixth sense would have made humanity unstoppable.
The ability to sense, that which lies beyond our five senses, would have been an invaluable tool to early man. It may have allowed the survival of the human species, as we know it today. However, as time went on and living conditions became easier with the domestication of animals, honing of learned skills, and the ability to form agrarian societies these abilities may have atrophied.
Our psychic abilities may have atrophied to the point that they became anatomically and physiologically vestigial in nature. The genetic combination responsible for the psychic trait may now rarely appear except aberrantly, in a chosen few, whose genotype allows phenotypical expression of the dormant trait or traits responsible for psychic abilities.
Just because we do not understand something fully does not mean it does not exist. The possibility of psychic ability, in our mysterious universe, is still a plausible explanation for many unexplained phenomenon.
Even with all of the advancements over the last 100 years there is still much debate and speculation, in the scientific community, about a plethora of topics. From the big bang to evolution scientists agree to disagree.
It stands to reason according to the scientific method that until all the explanations, hypothesis, and theories regarding psychic abilities are disproved that it must be considered as a viable alternative explanation to recognized unexplained paranormal phenomenon such as deja vu, precognition, and clairvoyance.
Some scientists studying psychic phenomenon, in children, utilizing the Zener card test regularly encounter statistically significant data that suggests more than chance outcomes at work. In fact many children regularly defy the odds by scoring 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60 % accuracy on a test with a statistical mean of 20% by chance. If that were a drug trial being run and that was the incidence of death for participants the FDA would certainly consider that significant. Right?
In addition to genetic factors that may predispose children to exhibit psychic abilities human development may hold some clues as to the reason children seem to possess a higher degree of psychic ability than adults. Human development occurs in stages each with its own marked physiological characteristics. During childhood it should come as no surprise to find out that we have the highest number of synaptic pathways that we ever have during the course of our lives. Do these extra connections provide a medium to the psychic realm? Is our brain wired towards the paranormal at earlier stages of human development due to anatomical and physiological processes that are occurring during the first several years of our lives?
Furthermore, according to Comparative Embryology during the first 6 weeks of human development, in our mother’s womb, we go through an evolution of sorts. In fact up until the time we differentiate we remain almost morphologically indistinguishable from lower life forms, in the same phase of development. From a single cell to pharyngeal gill slits to lanugo (body hair in utero) to human morphology we comparatively exhibit similar traits to our animal ancestors.
Is it possible that this comparative morphology extends past the physical development of the human body and into our development outside the womb? Maybe, our cognitive development goes through an “evolution” of sorts were the anatomy and physiology of our minds comparatively resembles our ancient psychic ability possessing human ancestors.
So, the question becomes can we disprove all plausible explanations, hypothesis, and theories regarding psychic ability. Not can we prove psychic ability exists. In addition many skeptics spend their entire lives trying to prove that psychic abilities do not exist rather than trying to disprove their own explanations, hypothesis, and theories about its non-existence. This type of objective scientific inquiry is tainted with bias and must not be considered credible.
Only when all the possible plausible explanations, hypothesis, and theories have been tested subjectively using the scientific method and disproved can any true scientist or skeptic state with 95% confidence that psychics and human psychic abilities do not exist.

Protecting your self from psyhic debri and entities
AmandaConnors asked:
What is Protection?
It is a form of safety and if you look at other forms of protection, you will understand a little more about it. When we go out into the sun we put on sunscreen to protect ourselves from the sun’s rays. It is the same when you go on a bike, you wear a helmet to protect from any damage if you were to fall. To protect is to keep yourself safe, secure and to stop anything from getting at you.
Why is it important to protect?
It is extremely important to protect yourself when doing any form of Spiritual, Psychic or Paranormal work this includes working with Angels. It is important because by doing so, you are keeping yourself free from risk of posession, energy drainage and emotional outbreaks from the source that you are picking up from. The source could be a negative energy, spirit or person who can attack you without your awareness, hence the importance of using protection. How do we protect ourselves? It does not matter if you find it hard to begin with, as time goes by you will find this process easier to do and you can be even more imaginative with what you use. There are several ways in which we can protect ourselves from psychic entities, debris, dark entities and negative auras to name a few. The first way is with white light and you do this by using visualisation techniques and imagination. Imagine yourself stood in a room, you look up to the heavens and you see a small light like a little star in the sky glistening down on you. As you stand and watch this light it draws closer and closer until it hoovers just above you. Picture this light moving around and down your body, every second the light gets brighter and every inch of your body becomes engulfed in it’s pure brilliance. As it moves faster and faster imagine it underneath your feet, moving back up and into your body so that you tingle. When your whole body is covered then you are protected and you can then open your eyes and go forth and now that you have protected your self. This technique can work with any color but it is suggested that white is best. If you need double protection or to provide a group, home or a circle of friends.
Secondly, another way in which you can protect yourself is to use a cloak. Any cloak will do just as long as it is long and it has a hood. Visualise one that is royal blue in colour, pick it up and put it on, but make sure the hood is pulled right over your head and make sure that your whole body is covered and nothing can get at you.
When you find the task of protecting that little bit easier you can move on to larger things. For example if you are camping and feel a little on ease, why not protect the tent and all it’s inhibitants. Or if you are in a car then do the same, you can even put protection up around your home but make sure when you do this to add a few more layers than usual, afterall your home is a lot bigger than just one person.
Whatever you are do; do it safely. Protect yourself. G.A.G@ www.supernaturalangels.org.uk.

“sparkling” Spirits Surround Miranda Since Childhood
Martha Jette asked:
Miranda Clearwell of southeast Missouri was just a child when she first heard voices in her head and realized that there were “sparkling figures” around her or following her.
As she grew into a young girl, it became so natural to her that she thought everyone experienced these kinds of things.
“I just thought they were extra friends for me that I couldn’t see or talk to directly,” said Miranda.
But she soon learned that her friends at school didn’t have similar experiences and she found it very upsetting. In fact, her friends warned her that such entities must mean trouble and she should be careful.
“For a time, I thought I must be crazy,” Miranda explained. “None of my friends knew anything that could help me.” In fact she added, many of them “became upset with me.”
Her experiences began as a youngster, when she realized the presence of the entities and that things in her room would move around as well. Miranda said she could also sense a lot of negative energy in the family home and it would grow unusually dark.
“Even when the sun was coming through (a window), the house could become dark,” she explained adding that this frightened her. “That was when I started feeling a presence very strongly and then there were multiple presences.”
While most of the house gave her an eerie feeling, she said her own room felt “warm and safe.”
The first time Miranda actually saw a “sparkling figure,” she was 19 years old and it sat right on her bed!
“I could see his outline,” she said adding that he appeared to be about six feet tall and “wearing clothing that fit somewhat close to his body. It looked like smoky water,” but was easily recognizable as a man. It also looked like he was “radiating some of it… I couldn’t see anything within the outer lines of the body, so I didn’t see a face or eyes or colors. He was all clear.”
Miranda said he walked like a normal person and then “sat on the edge of my bed facing me, while I was standing up in the center of the room. Once I spotted him, I moved close enough to sit on the bed in front of him.”
At this point, she was very excited, because she had never actually seen a spirit before. She was also quite afraid.
“Of course, my heart was beating out of my chest because it was a little bit scary, but in a miraculous way.”
“When I raised my hands in front of me, he raised his own and touched them to mine.”
Miranda said his hands felt “almost like fuzzy liquid.”
“He stayed like that until my eyes blurred with tears and he was gone.”
Miranda said she was “surprised by the experience, but his simple gesture was very touching…”
Since then, she has seen as many as seven of these figures in her room at one time, but the problem is: she isn’t sure what or who they are or why they keep coming around her. Miranda said she has spoken to the entities and upon a number of occasions, asked questions and received the answers in her mind – answers that were later confirmed.
Miranda explained that as a child, there was only the foundation of a house sitting on the property next to her home. She often played in that area and did not know at the time that the house had burned down.
“Me and my little brother used to walk around that lot all the time and we’d find useless things like rusted washers, metal silverware and plenty of burned things.”
Just this past week, she learned from her mother that an elderly couple had lived there.
“The wife was considered an invalid and was stuck in a wheelchair. Her husband set the fire and left her inside knowing that she couldn’t get out. My mother said she died in that fire and that the man went to prison for murder.”
I suggested that perhaps these two people might be among the many spirits that seem to cling to her. Perhaps that dark entity is the husband. However, Miranda’s story suggests that she may also have spirit guides or even angels close to her. Not only do they help her with her problems, but they also bring her comfort.
“I feel so attached to these spirits now,” she said.
Her only desire is that she would like to learn to communicate more effectively with her visitors from the other side. If anyone has suggestions for her, please let me know.
As well, Miranda said the presence of spirits around her has caused her to re-evaluate her personal beliefs. As a child, she was raised as a Christian to believe that with death, one goes to either heaven or hell.
“That was what everyone wanted me to believe,” she said. “I was never raised to believe that souls could still wander the earth after death, so it was startling to see that something was following me around.”
Now, Miranda says she believes strongly in life after death.
“I do believe that the soul is eternal and I also believe that if a person still has something they need to accomplish, God could allow them to remain behind for a while.”
She also thinks God might allow certain souls to remain earthbound for a time “to watch over their relatives or friends that still live. Nothing is impossible with God, so my faith allowed me to accept this possibility of spirit helpers without much trouble.”
Although she admitted that the spirit realm is still somewhat of a mystery to her, Miranda said she knows that everything “happens for a reason and that not one living person can place rules on how a human soul must behave after death.”
To sum it up, the 21-year-old added, “I still believe in a final resting place, but maybe some spirits are allowed to make a few stops along the way.”

Predicting Stocks and Other Things With Remote Viewing
Christine Gray Flynn asked:
Remote viewing is the unexplained, but scientifically acknowledged ability to see something that is hidden from physical view, something that is usually separated by some distance. Known as PSI, it is classified as a paranormal ability and is sometimes thought of as ESP, clairvoyance, precognition, or telepathy.
Used extensively as an intelligence gathering tool, the US government funded PSI research for over twenty years from the end of world war two through to the 1970s and used it to train ‘psychic spies’ during the Cold War. Known as part of the Star Gate project, the results were irrefutable: remote viewing is not only possible, but as an innate ability that everyone possesses, anyone can learn how to do it, and for those who become good at it, it is possible for them to achieve a positive result eighty percent of the time — eighty percent being the threshold replicated across multiple laboratories and cultures.
Up until recently remote viewing has largely been a tool used by the military, the CIA and other related branches of law enforcement. A common practice of the police, it has been used to solve crimes and find missing people. But having caught the imagination of the public, the application of remote viewing is gaining momentum in the mainstream, and is being used by some to predict all kinds of future events including the rise and fall of the stock market.
The idea that remote viewing can be used to successfully predict the outcome of the financial market eighty percent of the time might seem fanciful, if not a dream, but what about using it to see the future state of your health and well being. To use it in this way would in effect enable a person to change their future and maybe even postpone their death.
The ramifications of remote viewing for our daily lives are huge, but more than this, the fact that it is a proven phenomenon that requires our consciousness to transcend time and space, remote viewing is also a way of glimpsing the “universal mind” the “sea of consciousness” that all mystical experiences elude to — the all knowing that is everywhere, and that we can, through learning how to remote view, tap into whenever we want.
Surprisingly, learning how to remote view is not as difficult as one might imagine. In fact, it can be a deeply relaxing experience because it requires a temporary shift in brainwave frequencies from the beta range to the alpha range. The alpha brainwave frequency range is a dreamy relaxed, non judgemental, non analytical state and is the brainwave states most commonly associated with paranormal experiences. When one develops the ability to enter this state while remaining alert, they are in optimum state not only for remote viewing but for a whole host of experiences that transcend the barriers of the time space continuum.

Life is Just a Dream – or is It?
Martha Jette asked:
Imagine for a minute that everything you see around you is not actually there. It is just for lack of a better phrase, a figment of your imagination. Could it be?
The world’s top scientists now think that it could. In the Sunday Times from Britain, Prof. Sir Martin Rees suggested that life in the universe and everything in it may be nothing more than a giant computer simulation. The Royal Society professor at Cambridge University says humans may simply be bits of software. In other words, we program our world the way we want it. We create our own world, just like computers create a virtual world.
Prof. Rees says that over the past few decades, computers have created a virtual world with extensive detail.
“If that trend were to continue, then we can imagine computers, which will be able to simulate worlds perhaps even as complicated as the one we think we’re living in.”
He adds that this fact raised the question: “could we ourselves be in such a simulation and could what we think is the universe be some sort of vault of heaven rather than the real thing. In a sense, we could be ourselves, the creations within this simulation.”
Though this idea has already been snatched up by Hollywood in such films as The Matrix, Vanilla Sky and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, back in ancient Greece the philosophers of the day did not find the notion so far fetched. Even as far back as 2,000 years, the Chinese philosopher, Chuang Tzu wondered if his whole life had been nothing more than a dream. And in the 1600s, Rene Descartes wondered the same thing as noted by his famous words, “I think, therefore I am.” Then in the last century, Bertrand Russell propounded that humans might be just “brains in a jar” that were being activated by chemicals or electrical currents.
Next month, Prof. Rees will present his ideas in a television documentary called “What We Still Don’t Know.” He is expected to emphasize that today’s top physicists and cosmologists are seriously considering this theory. One of them, mathematical science Prof. John Barrow also of Cambridge University, will discuss the fine-tuned nature of our world and how event the slightest alteration in such things as gravity would have devastating affects. This, he believes, proves that intelligent design is at work.
There are, however, those who do not believe in intelligent design and say the universe is far too complex to be a simulation. Quantum mechanical engineering Prof. Seth Lloyd of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology says he could begin to imagine a computer large enough to simulate a whole universe.
What are your thoughts on Prof. Rees’ theory?
