Are Psychics Real?

Frederick Gimino asked:

If you have ever wondered “are psychics real?” you are not alone. Many people ask them selves this very same question every day. The answer is often not an easy one but for thousands of years, people have turned to psychics, and clairvoyants for love, romance, and life advice. Some say psychics even have the ability to communicate with the spirits of the departed.

However, over the years claims of spiritualism and psychic powers have been so widespread and the reports of its effects so numerous and impressive that it was inevitable that scientists would be attracted to the alleged phenomena. Parapsychology the science that studies these phenomena focused on many areas including telepathy, clairvoyance, hypnotism, spirits, spiritualism, and the history of spiritual manifestations.

Although Parapsychology is still considered a fringe science by many scientists it still merits the attention of renowned educational institutions such as Princeton University and Berkley. Princeton offers the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) degree and the University of Berkley in California awarded the only American accredited degree in Parapsychology to Jeffery Mishlove in 1980. But in saying this I am putting the cart before the horse.

The pioneers of modern Parapsychology began using the experimental approach to psychic phenomena at Duke University in the 1930s under the direction of Joseph Rhine. Subsequently Karl Zener one of J.Rhines associates developed the world renowned Zener card test for testing ESP abilities using the scientific method. These ESP tests were conducted at Duke University in one of the first Pavlovian conditioning laboratories.
Parapsychology progressed throughout the 20th century and adopted current technology as it became available. The use of more sophisticated methods of paranormal investigation advanced as technology did. In modern times advanced electronic equipment is often used to test for psychic phenomena. This is because paranormal events reportedly cause energy disturbances across the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Some speculate that energy is drawn from the surrounding environment to power psychic events. Modern day paranormal investigators monitor these environmental energy changes with a variety of modern instruments including EMF detectors, temperature sensors, static electricity detectors, ionization detectors, motion detectors, EVP recording devices, RF detectors, and radiation monitors.

So, whether you believe in psychics, paranormal activity, or spiritualism the fact of the matter is there is currently hard scientific data documenting the anomalous psychic events which occur in the everyday world around us. In addition for thousands of years unexplained phenomena have been documented throughout history. Are millions of people crazy? I think not. I assure you that the spiritual realm does exist and I am not alone in that belief. Many scientists, layman, and spiritualists share the same views about our universe. Even some world renowned physicists speculate the need for more than one dimension to explain life as we know it.

My best advice is to try to keep an open mind and an objective outlook about things that we do not fully understand. that is unless you believe the sole criterion of reality is our limited human ability to quantify, tag, and label it. After all we can not see the wind but we do see the affect it has on the leaves as they blow about. Does this mean wind does not exist just because we cannot see it?

In closing I leave it up to you the reader to decide for your self the answer to the question at hand. But, know this my answer to the question “are psychics real?” is yes. Psychics, psychic abilities, spirits, and ESP are real whether you believe in them or not.

Master The Law Of attraction for manifesting your desires

Conrad Raw asked:

"Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." Napoleon Hill, author of many books about the mind and success, wrote the quote many years ago after interviewing W. Clement Stone. It still holds true today. The mind is an incredible tool that has untapped and misused power. Science knows how to go to the moon, and yet they only know the tip of the iceberg information about the paranormal and the use of the mind to achieve success, live longer, live better and be happier.

The term paranormal is a misnomer because, there’s nothing "beyond normal" using the principals of mind power, such as "The law of attraction". You use it everyday from morning to night. Many people, however, use it improperly and attract negative outcomes.

The law of attraction is nothing more than deciding what you want, focusing on visualizing yourself with that and believing that it already is available. Many untrained men and women use it to achieve either what they want, or exactly the opposite. The mind uses the law of attraction with no regard for good, bad, like or dislikes. You get what you ask for, regardless of whether you want it or not.

Suppose you want the house. You draw up the plans, scour magazines for pictures of different rooms, and picture yourself inside the house greeting guests. One day out of nowhere, you drive past the house of your dreams and find it for sale. You believe this is the right home but have no money to purchase it. Normal people would shrug their shoulders and walk away, not you. You know this is the house, you saw it in your dreams and every waking moment. You decide to check with the realtor anyway. Amazingly, the owner wants to finance the house for the seller, himself and doesn’t need a down payment. The payments suggested fit into your budget. The house is yours. Is it coincidence? No, it is the law of attraction at work.

Do you ever wonder why some people get right up to the door of success only to have it slam in their face. They use the law of attraction in a negative way. They see themselves as failures.

You can create your own reality. It works. When you use creative visualization with the law of attraction, you direct your mind to see you where you want to be. There’s nothing mystical about it. It works on several planes. The first is the fact that you are more aware when opportunity arises. You notice the steps to your goal when they confront you. In the example above, you saw the house of your dreams.

The second is that you believe that your dream is attainable so you take action on it, action that you never would have attempted without your visualization to confirm that success was possible. In the example, you looked at the house, something you normally wouldn’t do.

The third may seem mystical and paranormal but is just science we don’t yet understand. Had someone shown early man the computer, he would have said it was magic or witchcraft. He would have said that, not because it is paranormal but because he didn’t yet understand how it worked or all the principals involved.

That’s the same concept we have of the law of attraction. Thoughts are things; they are energy waiting to materialize. It requires guidance and focus but is available to every man and woman. In the example, your energy influenced the seller’s decision to finance the sale, even before you met him. Just like the computer, you don’t have to understand how it works to use it.

When you learn to use the law of attraction in a controlled positive manner, a universe of possibilities begin to show up in your life. It isn’t mystical, nor is it magical, like the early man, you just don’t have the science yet to understand it.

Why are We Fascinated With Astrology?

Ronald Eapen asked:

In the 1920’s, there was a big sensation in the US. Twosisters had photographed fairies flying around flowers in their garden. It was an unbelievable event. The two gave interviews and talked stuff. It was after more than sixty years that one sister revealed the whole thing was a hoax. The fairies were made of paper. Nonetheless they captured public imagination. It was something different and unbelievable, but was revealed a hoax later.

But thousands of paranormal and supernatural things remain the way they are- uncanny and unimaginable. No one has explanations. All the same, people love to know more and indulge in these pursuits. Very often we have astrologers predicting events. Most people love the opportunity to get one’s palm read by an astrologer.

Believe the stuff or scoff at it. But the whole idea is fascinating to humans. Many people read the headlines of a newspaper later, but read their horoscope first. Astrologers and fortune tellers may talk in deceptive and ambiguous terms. Knowing the same, people flock to them.

Science and scientists try a lot. They never come up with satisfying explanations to paranormal and psychic stuff. Human beings are a curious lot. Issues with explanations satisfy them. But things with no explanations fascinate them. Take this one. Former US presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy – Kennedy’s life was very nearly a copy of Lincoln’s. Both became presidents after similar victories. Held office for nearly same number of days. Both were assassinated outside a theater near their car. The name of the killer was the same in both cases. These two incidents happened more than eighty years apart. Science does not have any explanation to this. People are intrigued by such happenings.

Human minds are adventurous. No wonder, why horror movies are so popular.

Everyone knows it’s all make believe. People still get white with fear inside cinemas and dream of ghosts for next few days. Calling spirits of dead people has become an industry in Britain. You have Gypsy ladies peering in a psychic glass ball and calling spirits of the dead people you want to get in contact with. Forget the common man, British aristocracy has been known to visit them more than anyone else.

Science-fiction -a word that sums up the topic. All the science-fiction novels, movies is make-believe. Nothing is real but every thing’s in a proper scientific way.

Giant spaceships, alien landings, UFOs kidnapping people all happen in science fiction. Actually there’s a group of people in US who claim to have been kidnapped by UFOs. They believe, they have had extra-terrestrial contact. What’s true, what’s not only time will tell.

Now if there were a time machine to travel in the future like in the movies…

Challenges of Selling a Haunted House

Andy Asbury asked:

Disclosure:

Disclosing whether a property is haunted or not can work for or against the seller. Some buyers are specifically looking for a residence with a ghostly presence, while others would turn tail and run at such a suggestion. Either way, if a seller knows something about a property and fails to disclose it, they are setting themselves up for a possible lawsuit. In some states, a seller must disclose whether a death has occurred on the property within the last three years.

Information that a home may be haunted can affect the value of the house and most certainly should be mentioned, since it’s doubtful the buyer would make that discovery on his own before purchasing. The rule of caveat emptor, or buyer beware, can be used as an argument when the possibility of a home being haunted was not disclosed prior to a sale. Even if the owner has no solid evidence, if he cannot deny the existence of ghosts, it is enough for a court to declare a contract void and have the deposit returned.

Value: Generally a home suspected of being haunted is priced according to fair market value, and then adjusted depending on buyer interest. Such was the case with a Nottinghamshire property purchased in 2007. The family thought they had found their dream home when they bought Clifton Hall, a 52-room country estate dating back to the days of William the Conqueror.

The structure appeared innocent enough, until the family moved in. After enduring months of ghostly voices and bloodcurdling screams, the owners enlisted the aid of paranormal investigators. Even science couldn’t intervene and the hauntings continued. Unable to share their home any longer with these creepy tenants, Clifton Hall was put up for sale about one year later for £2.75m, and almost £1m less than they originally paid. The property was finally sold, but never returned to its status as a residence, and is currently being utilized as a conference centre.

Haunted houses may take longer to sell:

Actor Nicholas Cage, knowingly purchased the old Lalaurie Mansion in New Orleans’ French Quarter in December 2006 for $3.45 million. Built in 1832, this home was the scene of horrible violence and is known for its paranormal activity. Although the Cage family spent time in the house, they never stayed overnight. In the fall of 2008, the actor put it back up for sale for $3.55 million, and it remains unsold as of the writing of this article.

In some cases when there is a history of well publicized violence, homes don’t even get listed. Such was the case In St. Catharines, Ontario, where the home of serial ****** and killer Paul Bernardo, was bulldozed and sold as an empty lot. On the other hand, home of Sharon Tate, the scene of the Manson Family murders, was sold at full value. The new owner tore it down and rebuilt a new mansion on the prime real estate site.

Although most people would not actively search out a haunted house, there are those who consider a such a residence a bonus.

An ad on the site for San Diego Paranormal Research states:

“The San DiegoParanormal Research Project will teamed up with your Professional Licensed Real Estate Agents to assist with the buying and selling of allegedly Haunted Houses and property throughout the United States. We will also handle requests for regular houses.”

Apparently there is a market for haunted houses, and they will assist you in locating one that is truly authentic. Various hotels and inn’s often gain publicity and added business from advertising the fact that their establishments are haunted.

The Cashtown Inn, built in 1797 was the scene of many deaths during the Civil War. The current owners make no effort to hide this fact and advertise such specials as “Ghosts of Gettysburg Weekend Investigation Package with MARK NESBITT and his Investigative Team,” where guests can actually attend a ghostly investigation. During “Catch the Spirits Weekend,” guests receive special tours of the Inn, including the basement, and learn about the ghostly happenings in the area.
